Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Review.

I purchased this Xiaomi Redmi note3 model around a month and I have done a fast survey in the wake of utilizing it as my essential handset.

Quick Specs

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 650(64 bit)
  • RAM Cortex A-72 1.8Ghz
  • 2/3 GB RAM
  • 5.5-inch 1920*1080 full HD IPS display
  • Adreno 510 GPU
  • 16/32GB internal storage
  • Daul sim/Hybrid micro SD card
  • 16MP rear/5MP front camera
  • 4050mAh battery
  • Fingerprint scanner

As should be obvious, spec focuses are okay and Xiaomi has been truly aggressive regarding the pricing also. 2GB RAM model that comes with 16 GB of internal storage is sold for RS24,999 whereas 3GB RAM model that comes with 32GB of internal storage is currently unavailable in Nepali market. It is sold in Nepal through vatsal implex and online partner Kaymu.

The first thing that truly awe me about Redmi Note3 is the battery. It has a sealed battery which is a 4050mAh battery. I could get average screen on time about 8hrs even when I was completely in mobile data i.e. on 3G. In terms of battery life Xiaomi has done excellent job; one of the best battery life that I have seen on a budget oriented Android device.

Next moving onto a built quality; built quality is really decent. It is actually made up of metal. It’s anodized aluminium at the back, it makes it feel lite. Even though it has 5.5-inch screen, marginally bended  back makes it easy to hold it in hand. In term of built quality and weight Xiaomi has done awesome job.

Now moving onto important sensor. It has all the vital sensor including gyro sensor. You can use it with VR headset and also youtube 360 degree video as it has gyro sensor.  The GPS navigation also works splendidly on this device.

Other additional features that Redmi Note3 has is fingerprint sensor and I have to say fingerprint sensor works very well. You simply need to touch it and unlocks. Also the accuracy is very great. It has IR blaster. It also functions admirably with 3rd party apps. Besides that the cellular call quality is very good. Calls are completely clear. Call via speaker is also legable. The speaker doesn’t get blocked even when placed above the table as it has small plastic edge.

Proceeding onward to processor used that is sold in Nepal comes with snapdragon 650 chipset. This snapdragon 650 chipset performs truly well. likewise in benchmark it gets very great score. And there is no excess heating while I am using it. It’s good and fast processor. Indeed general performance is good. I haven’t noticed any lagging even when I tried using 3rd party launcher. There was no clue of any lag when I was using this gadget.

Next moving onto gaming; the gaming performance was likewise great. It could play very heavy games like Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8. Clash of clan runs fine. It may take a bit longer time to load games because of it’s higher resolution then other comparable phones available in the market but then the gaming performance is very good once the game is loaded. Considering the price point gaming is very good in this gadget.

Now moving onto camera; it has 16MP rear facing camera and overall I would say in terms of camera performance in outdoor and natural lightening, the camera performance is good. Even when you take close-up shot you have that bkulcy effects and color accuracy is also really good. But again when you take picture especially in low light it tends to battle up a considerable amount.

Overall it's an awesome phone. You should definitely consider buying this phone over other mid range phones. It’s near competitive are Samsung J7 and moto g4 plus. So if you value money and performance I recommend you to get this gadget. It won’t disappoint you in term of performance and power as compared to it’s near competitive.
